Kildare opened there Gaynor Cup  account with a tie against Sligo Leitrim it wasn’t to be for the Leinster  side as they were beaten by four goals.

Sligo-Leitrim took the lead after just two minutes thanks to Amber Gray Harrigan. Right back Eibhlin Guckian played a lovely pass down the line to Natasha Kelly, who crossed, and Amber Gray Harrigan reacted fast to beat the goalkeeper.

Kiladre kicked into gear after the earl set back but couldn’t get through the resolute opposition defence as the game headed towards the water break. On the 20th minute, Ava Hallinan came off the bench and scored within two minutes by chasing down a through pass, switching to her left, and finishing.  At halftime, the score remained 2-0.
