Anyone in attendance at this round 2 game Tuesday morning was treated to a great game of football with the home side coming out on top in a seven goal thriller 

It was the home side who broke the deadlock early on with a goal from E Loftus inside the opening minutes. Within 5 minutes the tie was level as G Caroll equalized with an assist from S O' Donell

After this opening ten minutes it was the home side who gained control of the game firing in two more goals through E Loftus and L Hannon just before the interval.

Minutes after the  resumption it was that girl Caroll who had buried  her second  goal of the morning as Mayo pushed forward. It was all Mayo then until a break away goal from the aforementioned Loftus gave the momentum back to Limerick.

As the final whistle drew closer it was the Connacht side who were pressing forward at every opportunity . This pressure resulted in a 3rd goal through E Coleman with 8 minutes left . This was the last goal of the game as Limerick held out to win this thrilling second round match.
