Day 4 Review
It has to be noted that 4 out 14 games today were decided by the dreaded penalty shoot out.

Kildare 2
Limerick District 2
This was your typical game of two halves as both sides used the breeze to their advantage. Kildare went in a goal up through M Hurley Mullally.
The second half it was all district as M McGuane leveled the tie with a volley from a corner before G Geary gave the Limerick side the lead minutes later.
With the last play of the game E Killian sent the game to extra time with a will taken goal.
It was L Cusack who fired in the decisive penalty to give Limerick the victory 5_4.

Kilkenny 1
Kildare 1
It was Kilkenny who got off to a great start in this tie as A No Chasaide put her side one up. Just before water break Kildare leveled through A Wall. As the half dragged on both sides battled to gain control but it was difficult in the warm conditions
As the second half went on both sides created chances but couldn't break the deadlock meaning Kildare has a second penalty shootout in the day
This time they won when J Rust coolly slotted the winning penalty. 8-7

South Tipperary
Waterford 3
Waterford produced some great football against near neighbors Tipp in this semi final resulting in a comfortable win .
With twenty minutes gone in the opening half they had taken the lead when F McCann found the back of the net.
The second half was more pressure from Waterford which resulted in two more goals. Both were well taken by M Murphy and Z O'Sullivan in the final minute of the game.
Bowl Sf 2
North Tipperary 1
Cork
The second all Munster affair was much tighter with only one goal the difference in the end
It wasN'T who got off to a perfect start with an early strike from M Kirwan gave her side the lead within six minutes. The rest of the half ebbed and flowed both no side could change the scoreline.
After the break Cork pushed forward but a resolute NT defense stood strong closing out the tie to gain victory .

Galway 4
MGL North 2
It was the Commavjt side who got the better of their opposition in this 6 goal thriller.
The first half was a goal fest as boty attacks produced some great football from the opening whistle. A McCough opened the scoring for the westerners before A Buggle leveled the tie thirteen minutes in. Galway fired two goals in a minute as McCough doubled her tally after Berrigsn gave her side the lead. The Dublin side had the last laugh in the half as C Nugent buried her effort leaving the minimum between the sides at the break.
The second half was a much tamer affair with both sides tiring in the heat. In the final play of the tie Galway broke forward and made sure.of victory when A Conway rattled the back of the net.
Sligo 1
MGL North 0
This game was played after yesterday's postponement due to an injury.
With 29 left on the clock when it began again it was clear to see that this would be a tough battle especially around the middle.
Sligo added an extra player to the middle this ensured they would hold out for victory in the early kick off
Cup SF
Carlow and District 1
MGL South 0
This all Leinster affair in the cup had to be separated by penalties in the end .
From the outset it was Carlow who took control around the middle. This resulted in the tournament's top scorer C Milton to give her side a deserved lead. They kept this lead until the half time whistle ..
MGL wrestled back control in the second half as R Loughran leveled the tie. No side could take the lead again before the final whistle as body defenses were excellent.
It was Carlow who came out on top with E Bolger hitting the decisive one.
Midland SL 1
Sligo Leitrim 0
An early second half goal saw Midlands make their way into the cup final
The first half of the game was an end to end affair with both sides trying to open the scoring but nobody could cause any damage .
The major goal came early in the second half when S Byrne put Midlands in the lead. With the game edging towards the end. Skigo pushed forward but couldn't manufacture an equalizer.

Longford 1
Wexford 4
The performance of the day belonged to the south east side who controlled this semi final from start to finish.
They were two yo within five minutes with N White and K Tompkins getting on the score sheet. After the water break they struck for two more coming from White again before J Rankin finished the scoring
The second half Longford pushed forward and we're rewarded with a consolation goal off the boot of M McGovern.
Shield SF 2
Roscommon 4
Limerick County 2
This six goal epic resulted in a smash and grab victory by the Connacht side.
The first half the home side were creating chances but couldn't make them count . Down the other end Roscommon were clinical with E Diskin ,E Daly and A O'Toole all getting on the score sheet
The last fifteen minutes the game burst into life after Daly doubled her tally for the day.
With five minutes left uo stepped J Hogan but her two set piece goals weren't enough for her side.
Gaynor Shield Place Match
Donegal 1
Louth 2
The side from the north east just got the better of their Ulster rivals in this match .
Louth opened the scoring six minutes in as C Mota found herself in the perfect position to give her side the lead. This tie was level just before the break through an A McCauley strike.
The second half began with a bang as E McMahon gave Louth the lead early in the half. They help out expertly to win the game in the end.
Limerick Desmond 0
Kerry 0
Nothing could separate the near neighbors urs in normal time but Kerry for the better in the end
The first half was pretty quiet as both teams found it hard to create clear cut chances. With ten minutes left in normal time both sides created chances but both keepers made great saves keeping the scores even at the final whistle.
Kerry won the penalties 2_4 as A Caroll.Kelly fired in the final one.
Trophy SF 1
Inishowen 2
Cavan Monaghan 1
This all Ulster affair saw Inishowen get the better of Cavan Monaghan.
The north Donegal side got the perfect start. It was O Ward who gave her side the advantage.
In the last two minutes the game got exciting when M Doherty found the back of the net ro double the advantage.
The opposition pushed forward and narrowed the gap through an own goal. Inishowen held out for a deserved win.

Mayo 4
Clare 1
This all west coast affair saw mayo won comfortably by 3 goals.
Mayo controlled the tie from the outset which led to C Kearney rattling the net in the first half .
Early in the second you could see Mayo had more goals in them. These goals came from Kearney S O Donnell and G Caroll. Clare fired in a final consolation goal through A O'Doherty. This wasn't enough as mayo held out to win.
