The semi final of the Wicklow Junior B Championship was played last Thursday night in Arklow.


Glenealy started the game at a faster pace because directly from the throw in midfielder Aaron Meade picked up the ball ran at the bray defence and slotted a nice early score to settle Gleanely. Glenealy put over two more scores from centre forward Ben o Neil from play before Meade got another from a free. Bray then went on their first meaningful attack getting a point from play through wing forward David Ebbs. O Neil got another score from play before midfielder Eddie Doyle slotted another over the black spot. Then completely against the run of play Bray played a ball behind the Glenealy Back line where wing forward was left alone with the time and space he had he calmly slotted the ball into the back of the net. Then a pivotal moment came in the game when Glenealy midfielder Eddie Doyle got involved in an off the ball scuffle with Bray midfielder Colin Salmon. As a result of this scuffle the referee sent the two players off.  Glenealy then started to put the foot down with wing forward o Neil getting a goal from play. Bray Corner forward John warde then got a fine score from play. Glenealy then tagged in two more scores from play from centre forward o Neil and a fine score from wing back Robert Browne.  Bray full forward Brian Duggan then got a point from play after some hard work from the midfield. Glenealy then got their second goal through wing forward James Manley before both sides cancelled each other out with points Brays coming from midfielder Connor Doherty and Glenealy point coming from centre forward O Neil. Leaving the score 2-8 to 1-4 at half time.


The second half was very much like the first with Glenealy dominating and with Aaron Meade getting another early score this time from a free. |Hard working Glenealy Full Forward Dean Franey getting another score from play before Meade put over two monster frees. Both teams started to empty their benches at this stage with bray Sub Philip Lee scoring a real consolation score for Bray. Then very much like the first half there was another incident where Glenealy sub R o Brien got involved in an altercation with the Bray full back Ed Keating which led to the two of them been. The game was petering out to its inevitable conclusion at this stage but just to rub salt into the Bray wounds Glenealy got 3 more points before the end. Two of them from centre forward o Neill and the final score of the game coming from substitute Brendan Hawes.
