Louis get into League semi final win with a hard fought win.
St Louis started the game very well with their forward line always playing in front of their defenders. Wing forward Cillian Finn scoring Louis 1st point of the game with a fine team score. Centre forward Conor Byrne scored two points from play before Rice got their 1st point from a free from wing forward Stephen O Malley. Byrne and O Malley tagged over a free kick each before Rice got the first goal of the game through Centre Forward Paul Lambert collecting the ball in front of the goal and sticking it into the back of the net. Byrne, Finn and Corner Forward Ross Egan all scoring points from play after some nice team play. Rice Corner Forward got a nice point from play. Louis got two more points following some good defending and team play the ball ended up in the hands of Wing Forward James McNeive who slotted the ball over the bar before Finn got another point from play. Moran got another point from play before roving wing back Conor Kilkenny got a fine score from play. . The half ended well for Louis with Byrne getting another point from play before midfielder Sean Walsh scored a fine point after a lung bursting run from midfield O Malley finished the half with another point from a free. Louis led the game 13 to 1-6 at half time.
Rice came out in the second half all guns blazing with O Malley getting a point before Centre back emulated what Kilkenny did in the 1st getting a fine point from play. Louis got another point with Finn scoring from play again. O Malley and McLaughlin both got points from play. The game was really in the melting pot when Byrne turned his defender and put the ball into the back of the net. Finn and Byrne then slotted over a free kick each. Rice then went up the field and Forward Moran put the ball into the back of the Louis net. Louis then made two subs with one of them Paddy McDonald firing over two quick points from play. Moran then put a free over for Rice. Louis then dealt the final two hammer blows to Rice. 1st sub McDonald got on the end of a fine pass to lob the ball over the onrushing rice goalie. In the next attack Byrne put a high ball into the goalmouth as a result sub Michael McNeive got his hand up higher than any other player to flick the ball into the back of the net. Rice finished the game with the last score from defender Sean Ryder. Louis won the game 3-17 to 2-11
