 With only one sub this didn't stop a determined Blessington beating Aughrim on Sunday afternoon.

 This scoring in this tie was opened by Auhgrim as Joe McGuckian along with teammate Conor Phelans saw them take an early three-point lead. By the midway point of the half their opponents had leveled with dead balls from Mikey O’ Toole and Jordan Nolan in between an effort from center back Cillian Bailey. This purple patch ended with a goal from Adam Wilkinson. This lead was reduced by Alex Kavanagh before O’ Toole and Nolan raised two more white flags to leave four points between the sides at the break.

The west Wicklow side kept the pressure on in the second half adding four more unanswered scores by the aforementioned Nolan and O'Toole who were firing over at their ease. It was then the turn of midfielder Ruairí Finan to open his account when he buried the ball high into the net. As the half drew to the midway point Aughrim tried to narrow the gap through McGuckian and Kavanagh in between another Adam Williamson effort. The marble city side emptied their bench and substitute Jonathan O’ Connor found the net with his first touch of the game. With the game heading to the final whistle Conor Phelan’s dead balls kept the tie alive while at the other end O'Toole and Nolan were scoring at their ease along with final efforts from Sean Mescal and Curtis Geraghty to maintain the lead up until the final whistle.
