Junior B Football Championship

 Dunlavin 3-14

 Kilbride 0-3

Dunlavin

The home side produced a fine team display as they controlled this Junior B encounter from start to finish.

The home side had a clear game plan with full forward Thomas David pivotal to this as by the twentieth minute of this game the ex-Kildare underage star had fired over six points equally scoring from play and frees. It was then the turn of midfielder Adam Byrne to drive through the middle of the opposition defense before firing into the roof of the net. The opposition managed to stem the tide towards the end of the half with points from Shane Carty and Tadhg Reid. The final score of the half was from Daire Wright giving his side a comfortable lead at the half time whistle.

When the game resumed Davis slotted his final score before his other forrad colleagues joined in the scoring act. It was Mossy Lawlor who added a score to his tally alongside Dean O’ Rourke and a second goal this time from the aforementioned Wright before he doubled his points tally. A final effort from Kilbride stemmed the tide as Richard Ward got his name on the scoresheet. After the midway point Kilbride were awarded a penalty but Shane Carty's effort was well saved in the goal. As the home side emptied the bench one of the subs Dean Phelan made an immediate impact sliding in his side’s third goal of the game. The opposition had one last goal chance which was expertly saved by stand-in goalie Dean O’ Rourke. With the tie over as a contest the final three scores were added by Byrne Lawlor and roaming wingback Harry Coleburn
