outclassed Roundwood in what was a very enjoyable final to watch at noon on
Sunday in Balinakill.
From the
opening whistle Blessington powered forward hitting 5 points in response to
Roundwood’s solitary reply. The scores came from Jamie O’ Toole, Cillian Behan,
Daniel Smith and 2 from Ciaran Butler who hit a dead ball and from play. The
response was a free from Jack Leacy. After the break there was 2-2 with no response.
Butler adding 2-1 of the tally with the point from James McCarney.
After the
whistle both sides fired into the net with Jack Murray extending the lead
before O’ Toole narrowed the gap with another dead ball. Roundwood goal came
from an attempted block by the opposition which ended in the net to help narrow
the score line again before the 2nd water break. From that 2nd
break to the end the last two consolation points were frees from Roundwood’s
Evan Rooney.
Blessington
held out to the final whistle to win by 9.
