Avoca vs Barndarrig U13 D Plate Final

In what was a repeat of one of last year’s u13 D plate final that was played in June in Ballymoney. Avoca did the needful by winning out in this final by the narrowest of margins.

The team in black and gold made a flying start scoring 1-2 without reply before the first water break. Conor Daly got the first goal with Luke Purser 45 dropping into the net, Darragh Harper notched a point. 

Avoca got another goal and point from Jack Power. Barndarrig finally kicked into gear notching 1-4 before the half time whistle. The goal coming from Jack Nolan who added a point before Daniel Jones and John Murray narrowed the gap.

Both sides powered forward after the whistle with Power getting another green flag and Lucas Reid adding a free. The opposition added three points from DJ Williams before Daniel Jones added a free and one from play.

The last quarter was a much tighter affair with Reid notching a 2nd dead ball to extend the lead to 7 for Avoca. Barndarrig’s final 2 scores were both major’s from Colcough Byrne and Daniel Jones. Avoca kept them out for the last few attacks to win by a point
