This weekend sees the opening round of the Division 3 National Football League south.
For those that don’t know the GAA have divided the national leagues into regional groups to limit the travel distance for teams in the current climate
Limerick Vs Tipperary
Day: Saturday 15th May
Time: 17:00pm
Venue: Gaelic Grounds
Tv Channel: GAA Go
The last time these two sides locked horns was in the Munster championship last year. Tipp overcame Limerick by a point in extra time and eventually won the Munster championship in a historic season for the Premier County.
The Treaty county will be sweating on the fitness of this year’s joint captain Iain Corbett who is suffering from a foot injury and may not be risked for this opening round clash.
Tipp attack and squad has received a major boost for the season, with ex Dublin county footballer Philp Ryan joining their ranks. With a potential full forward line off Ryan, captain Conor Sweeney and Michael Quinlivan. It’s hard to see anything but an opening round win for the Premier County.
